The second book in the series featuring Max, a former MI 5 agent who is now a priest in a small village. This time he gets roped into helping solve the murder of a wealthy older gentlemen who has his family visiting for Christmas. The tragedy is compounded by the natural death of the victim's sister at the same time. The family was a bit over the top, but it was still enjoyable to spend time with Max.

The slow burn romance is charming; I was completely uninterested in the actual mystery.

Interesting characters. Many I did not like.

Really enjoying this series. The mysteries are interesting and Father Max does not tell you everything he has figured out -- leaves until the last moment. His relationships with the villagers are fun -- love the characters -- Suzanna, the doctor, some of the kids, Awena, nothing much on Lily in this one.
