This is the first thriller I have ever read. I was very nervous going into it as I’m not looking for horror filled books. But this book was definitely a good book to start my journey of thrillers with. Enjoyed it. I did guess some things but also didn’t guess others.

Riley Sager has done it again. He has blown me away with how well he is able to surprise me and by how atmospheric his writing is. This is my second Riley Sager novel and I was nervous because I LOVED Final Girls so the bar was high with this one. I am happy to report he has wowed me again.
I was drawn into this story from the very first page. I was not only intrigued by our main character Jules but also by the setting Riley Sager creates. I felt like we had two main characters, first being our protagonist Jules but also The Bartholomew. This apartment building was a character in this story, and it was just as creepy as I expected. This book was like American Horror Story in all of the best ways. We had fully developed characters, an atmospheric setting and the heart pounding edge of your seat writing that sucks you in from the first second.
This is a slower burn compared to Final Girls but for good reason. We learned about all of the different characters and how they will impact this story bit by bit. Sager is wonderful at creating layers to his books and this was a great example of that. This is a bone chilling story that will leave you rattled.
