Oh my gosh, this was incredible. I've been putting this novella off for ages because I wasn't ready to have nothing new left in the series, but I finally read it today and I totally should've picked it up sooner! I love AIDAN (even though it low key terrifies me lol) and I've always wondered what turned it into the system we see in the trilogy, so reading this and getting that insight was fantastic. The final page gave me goosebumps! Plus, it's been years since I read the main series and revisiting that world was even better than I thought it would be. ♥

Yowza. Reading Memento right after finishing Obsidio, it's a bit of a shock to see how far AIDAN has come. These mere 82 pages really demonstrate how AIDAN got to where he was at the beginning of Illuminae, and even through the end of Obsidio. Amazing.

Wow, I really liked this short novella even though it was sad and a bit predictable. I never trusted or even liked Aidan so this gives me further reason to hold a grudge against him. This was short, only about 80 pages or so. I recommend this be read after you've read The Illuminae Files.

I enjoyed this so I'm giving it 4.5 stars out of 5.

I first read Illuminae in 2016 and after re-reading it in 2022 I found this on Scribd. It was certainly a fun addition to the series and while it didn't blow me away it was as creepy and clever as I'd hoped.

I loved this extra look at the Alexander before the events of Illuminae, with a heavy focus on Aidan. It was so informative to read and see some of what made Aidan who he was in the series.

And, as with the trilogy, the audio is absolutely phenomenal!
