I wanted to like FULL CONTACT more but there was just something missing for me. I finished the book because it's so short but I wasn't invested in the story. I did like both Anders and Dahlia and if this was just about sex, then FULL CONTACT would be perfect. They were great together, with sexy chemistry, and while Anders trusts Dahlia pretty quickly it still worked.

However, there was a lot of history and complications for Dahlia and Anders that just didn't feel like it was given the right amount of attention. With only 100 pages there's not a lot of time to address things like date rape, slut shaming, harassment, cheating ex's, an uncle jealous of professional success, possible career ending injuries, public infamy centered on your sex life, etc. It was just too much for such a short book.

Content Warning: Dahlia was raped in high school and slut shamed for it

Little bit too much gender essentialism
weird focus on the hero not being "girly"
for a story where the plot is that he's a virgin.

An okay harmless shorter story on my favorite topic of hockey player romance, this time here as Anders, a sweet Viking-esque virgin with a recent knee injury and doubt over his career, whose deflowering is a topic of public discussion with his teammates putting up a bounty for it. His love interest is Dahlia, a chef who has recently come back to her hometown working at her family's resort in small-town Minnesota to recoup after a break in her business venture. She's purple haired, tattooed and takes no prisoners, and has had to go through gross attention when she'd been assaulted in high school- she just wants to save up and get out of the town again. They meet at the bar, sparks fly, then there's the ensuing conflict point of the bounty and misunderstandings about their motivations, then the requisite happy ever after with her going down to New Orleans with him as his girlfriend. Everything happens really quickly and they declare their love after weeks, so on, but this fit with the tone of this shorter story and novella, it was nice and fun. Loved the pairing of this more unlikely couple, and they're both lovely people.

Snarky bartender at a resort bar finds herself wildly attracted to the hot hockey player who's recovering from a knee injury but is astonished to learn he's a virgin, with a bounty on his v-card.

Fun contemporary with great characters, I loved the great banter and tension between Dahlia and Anders, and the fact Anders virginity wasn't used as a joke or a secret.
