A lovely and breezy read. The idea of taking a postcard to limit the amount of writing feels like the analog application of Twitterature. This also immediately shows its trap falls in that the very limited amount of words that can be put down means the author must have a very strong sense of economic writing. Carson does seem to have this but definitely not with every short story she put in this collection. Certain stories are fittingly brief and conjure up enough questions to make the impact of the story last outside of the writing itself (the stories in weeks 21, 23, and 25 in particular have a strong sense of poetry to them) but others feel too much like registrations that don't offer much beyond what's to be found at face value. But then again, I do love stuff like that, simple slices of the lives of strangers.

I loved the concept of flash fiction on postcards but like all short stories, poetry etc. It’s hard to give 5 stars because it’s unlikely every story will grab you. But I enjoyed it!
