The author’s enthusiasm for these fish shines through on every page, and the message and information conveyed is invaluable in the age of climate change that we’re living through. The narration was a bit inconsistent, though; many chapters leaned more heavily on the author’s personal experience while neglecting information on the fish he’s trying to catch, which can be frustrating for readers who aren’t interested in fishing. For the most part, though, the energy and enthusiasm of the narration is enough to carry readers through the slower parts.

More fishing book than "science nonfiction infodump on weird fish". Probably about 75/25 fishing stories/fish info.
