Thanks to Book Sirens for this free copy in exchange for an honest review.

I picked this book because the premise sounded interesting. I wasn't wrong.

Brennan and Olivia, two teenagers living on opposite sides of the USA, have reached the end and decide (independently) to commit suicide.

However they find themselves trapped in limbo where they are told by the angel, Haniel, that they have been given a second chance at life. Both take it but in the confusion they end up returning to each other's bodies.

The stories follow the teens journeys back into a life they know nothing about. All they have to go on is scant information from friends, family and teachers. What they need to do is get back to their own bodies but first they must negotiate the aftermath what led the other to commit suicide in the first place.

Brennan makes friends with the bully who made Olivia's life a misery and Olivia connects with the sister Brennan blames for some of his problems. As each of them delve deeper into the real reason for the suicide they come to a better understanding of each other and themselves, finding that the other has qualities that they themselves lack and need to survive

I was thoroughly engrossed in this book and only knocked off half a star because it seemed to lose its way at the very end. Otherwise I'd definitely recommend it for anyone interested in well written, thought provoking YA literature.
