This was very cute, but it feels almost utopic that Nikhil could get this sort of community support when this reader is living in Moms for Liberty's backyard; in a state that is passing vile anti-trans bills.

Fun middle grade book with great racial representation, gay protagonist, family, and friendship themes. Touches on puberty (voice change), growing up, crushes. 8th grade characters and would appeal to 4th grade-8th grade. Schoo musical is a central plot point. Main character is a voice actor, Indian-American, and son of a single mother.

Solid middle school option - not exactly sure what the conflict is/who the target audience is.

“In every universe, it’s you for me. Even if it’s not me for you.”

Do you have a place where you vacation every year? It sounds so amazing to have that special place to escape to year after year, and I loved escaping through reading this book.

Harriet and Wyn. Sabrina and Parth. Cleo and Kimmy. My favorite thing about this book was the found family. Harriet wasn’t close with her own family, but she had these beautiful people, and this place. How their friendship evolved from college roommates to a couples group.

The longing of finding home again, I felt that so much in my soul.
