Excellent, sad, moving story set in the 1934 south. Was going to give it a 4, but the ending made it a 5.

This romance novel set in the great depression times was so heartfelt and interesting to read about. The romance was sweet but the plot as enough depth that the book had a well balanced medium of the too. One of my favorite Sandra Brown books in recent years

I really liked this book! It was such a great read. Even though at its heart it is a romantic story, it had more depth to it than most romantic novels. The characters were well defined and I could have used a few tissues near the end!

It was a heartwarming story.
Given the premise and the starting chapters, it seemed like this would be sad.
But I loved how different characters and their situations were focused on.
In the end, I was happy for Ella, and I loved this read.

I really enjoyed this story. I felt connected to the characters and I'm a sucker for "love stories". This is definitely not the type of novel Brown usually writes, but it was a nice change for her fans.
