Fifth in the Wild Riders erotic romance-suspense series revolving around the bike-ridin' men who belong to a secret government organization.

My Take

It's a sweet story but never really rises to the tension levels that could make this a great little story nor does it account for how easily Teresa accepts sex with two guys. Wouldn't it be great if we could simply write world peace as easily as so many authors write their characters' actions?

I did wonder how AJ and Pax would resolve their need to share a woman. Lucky for them, the woman they want is also into Harleys.

The Story

Looking forward to a well-deserved vacation, AJ and Pax are riding the roads and just happen to stop in AJ's old hometown in Missouri where they come across Teresa in his old hangout, Greasy Rider, only she's now the owner and bartender. And still single.

A timely visit as a rival gang, the Fists, instigate a bar fight resulting in Joey arrested for the murder of the leader of that rival biker gang. A charge Teresa knows is bogus and she is determined to get to the truth. Determined to protect her, AJ and Pax ride with her to Sturgis for the annual Bike Week, not only for the loyalty and love he feels for what they had when they were young but also for the love both men are coming to feel for Teresa and the concern they have for the trauma she suffered five years ago.

The Characters

AJ and Pax are undercover agents with the Wild Riders. Troubled teens chosen by General Lee and reworked into federal agents of a secret organization that infiltrates motorcycle gangs and other similar groups. Best friends for the past 10 years, AJ and Pax share everything.

Teresa is the love that AJ left behind when he left town. He loved her too much to subject her to the life he knew he was heading toward. Now, she is hotter than ever. As Pax *ahem* points out. Joey is Teresa's brother and the leader of the Thorn motorcycle gang; he was also AJ's best friend when they were kids. Russ is Joey's second-in-command and has been a friend to both for years. Heather is one of the bartenders and a staunch friend to Teresa.

The Cover

The cover is fuchsia and black with the Badlands in the background and one of the boys coming up on his motorcycle behind the couple. The second half of the AJ-Pax team is laying his claim on Teresa grasping her thigh even as she claims him right back.

I think the title, Riding the Night, refers to the nightmares that have haunted Teresa for the past five years.

Great story. I enjoyed all of the characters and the plot was amazing, not to mention all of the hot, hot lovin' going on.

Motorcycle + alpha hero = wild ride. Motorcycles + 2 alpha heroes + 1 strong heroine = explosive ride. Jaci Burton’s final entry in her ‘Wild Rider’ series is typical Burton; and by that I mean get ready for romance, exciting characters, intrigue, adventure, emotional revelations and passion.
