omg. this book is totally the best one out of the whole series so far. I mean I wish there was more of Zoey in this book and I kind of feel sorry for Stevie Rae, especially now that she is in love with the Raven Mocker that killed one of the professor there at the school, but other than that, it was a heart pouding race to see if Zoey would choose to come back to the living world and Stark....I love him. I wish him and Zoey would get together. I so totally can't wait for the next one.

SYNOPSIS:
Zoey Redbirds soul is shattered. She is doomed to walk the otherworld for all of eternity as a broken soul forever looking to be whole. But not if Zoey's friends can help it! They refuse to believe Zoey is doomed, no matter how often the high Counsel tell them that never in Vampyre history has their been a shattered Vampyre to return back to their bodies and live. Above all Zoey's Warrior Stark knows it is his job to get his high Priestess back so he knows what he must do, travel to the other realm to save Zoey's soul, even if it means losing his forever...

REVIEW:
This book was very interesting but it was the ending that completely sold me and turned it from a good book to a great one! Since I HATE spoilers I won't give anything away. Above all in this novel we see even deeper into the minds of Rephaim, Stevie Rae, Aphrodite, and Stark than in any of the previous novels. This novel also introduces a new (and very surprising) love story between two characters (that I will NOT mention) that the reader will either cheer for and love the romance blooming or it will be a complete flop and ruin a good piece of the book, either way I personally enjoyed it very much and am most excited to see what continues to happen between these two characters in the next novels. The main conflict (and the plot that takes up about 97% of the book) is Zoey being a shattered soul in Nyx's realm and most of it involves the main characters trying to save her from this impending doom. I really enjoyed this novel and can't wait to read "Awaken"

Longer to read because I’ve been really busy but I love how heartfelt of a journey this particular book is filled with!

I stand by my statement that each book in the series gets better than the last one. I love Stark and his devotion to Zoey. I loved the ending where he drank from her and their bond changed even more and he became her Guardian. I was not a fan of Heath, but after he had to give Zoey up to save her and the world I've had a change of heart. What a guy.

I am enjoying Rephraim's struggle for humanity and Stevie Rae helping him. I have never liked Dallas and now I especially don't like Dallas.

I missed seeing more of Zoey's friends in this book, but will accept the large amounts of Stark that I got in exchange.

Ugh, this is the one in the Otherworld. We've jumped the shark here. There's just so much BAD going forward that's introduced in this book.
Masculine barbarism and the bulls, especially when your world already has established canon human-like gods.
The Isle of Skye and the Guardians and Old Magick, oh my god Old Magick. Old Magick is genuinely the bane of the series going forwards.
This feels like a story completely separated from the world of House of Night.

The House of Night series offers a unique blend of addictive drama and maturing characters. While the earlier books lean heavily on teenage soap opera tropes, the series takes a darker turn as it progresses. The characters, particularly Zoey, Stark, Aphrodite, and Stevie Rae, become increasingly entangled in complex conflicts that force them to grow.

The introduction of multiple character perspectives significantly enhances the narrative. Characters like Aphrodite,Stevie Rae, and Stark emerge as multifaceted and intriguing individuals. Stevie Rae, initially an annoying presence, develops into a strong and relatable character, especially in Burned.

(Spoiler Alert) Burned stands out as the best book in the series so far. The blossoming romance between Stevie Rae and Rephaim offers a captivating "beauty and the beast" dynamic, arguably more compelling than Zoey's relationship with Stark. The hope for Rephaim's transformation and a future with Stevie Rae leaves the reader eager for the next installment.
