I didn't hate Molly - I felt that she was manipulated and guilted into doing things. Carter was surface and nothing more.

One thread that seems to run through all of these titles are the people who have had sex with each other. Now, I am not sure how big Hope is... but it all feels very... incestuous. They seem to merrily go out with other's ex's with no worries. This is just weird. And more than a little icky. Also, why the need to actually bring up the fact that they had had sex with someone when it was so long ago... especially when it looks like that someone is developing or renewing a relationship. Seems a little selfish to me.

Also, throughout all of these I have not liked Chelsea. Her character is someone that I would've avoided at all costs. I think the final nail in her coffin for me was the relaying of information about a date she went on... she was irritated cos her date expected her to pay for her share of the meal. Why? Why would she not pay? It's not the 1950's ( or thereabouts )... can she not afford to pay for a meal? If that is the case, she shouldn't be eating out. And her whole 'telling it like it is'... cheap lazy cop-out for not being a decent person.

If you've been reading this series from the beginning you had to have known this book was inevitable. And as the reader we are privy to enough to know the gist of what happened in the past with Molly and Carter, but it's satisfying to finally get the whole story.

Carter was so very patient with Molly. I totally get why she was upset with him, especially given their ages when everything went down. But she never gave a thought as to his feelings or gave him the support he needed. That actually didn't make me dislike Molly, again she was young when everything happened. Although this story takes place many, many years later, she still is stuck in that moment in time when it comes to Carter. I liked how the author had Molly realize she was viewing her whole relationship with Carter through that one moment...stuck remembering bad times instead of the years of good they had. That happens so much in real life. Even after it was acknowledged, Molly still had a problem getting past those feelings. Which I also liked since in real life, just because we know why we're doing something doesn't mean we can stop doing it.

We got to know more of the town this time around. There were a few girlfriends added now that Molly was in town since she's of a different age range than her sister. Plus, as with the last book, there was a lot of flirting going on with Bash and Chelsea. I was glad to see their story will be next.

This was going to be a solid 3-4 stars but the main girl at the end. She irked me to the point that this is more like a 2.75.

This book was very satisfying, as I expected from Burton. I was happy to be back in Hope and really excited that this pairing was a second-chance romance. They two were high school sweethearts, who had a major falling out that sent Molly running. She lived a nomadic life, until she returned home for her sister's wedding and ending up staying longer due to a family emergency.

I was all for these two reconnecting. First of all, Carter was wonderful. He really put himself out there with Molly, yet did exercise a bit of caution. I loved seeing them rediscovering each other as adults and was cheering for them the whole time. I did feel the ending was a bit rushed, which is why I knocked off a half star, but everything else I look for was there. I am going to admit, that there were a few times I got a little emotional too. There is just something about second chance romances that gets me every time.

I really enjoyed Molly and Carter's story. I love they were high school sweethearts and honestly never really stopped loving each other. Yes Molly and Carter had much to work through to be together, and I loved they each had the chance to have their say about what had happened back in high school. I honestly think their time apart was part of the reason they could finally make it work again once Molly returned to Hope. Molly and Carter seemed to have just as strong if not stronger chemistry together as adults. I loved how well they got one another.

I'm a huge fan of this series and am adoring the audiobooks. I can't wait to listen/read the next book in the series.
