This is book four in the Holloway series. Possibly it could be read as a standalone but there’s enough secondary and repeating characters that it really is best to go back and start from the beginning. This entire series has been just so much fun that it’s worth it. Plus they’re all novellas so it’s a great way to spend a weekend. In Just What He Wanted we finally get Travis’s story who’s been an adorable southern gentleman the past few novellas it was so wonderful to see him get his HEA. I especially loved his heroine, Andie, because she was plus sized. There’s not a lot of plus sized heroines out there so any time I can find one I’ll gobble up the story. Besides an age difference, both Andie and Travis had some issues they needed to work through, both past and present, so as their relationship grew they learned to trust each other and work through those issues together. I would have liked a little more smexy times between them but Ms. Dimon did a good job of building a relationship that just throwing in extra smexiness wouldn’t work. Overall, good read!

Short, satisfying addition to the Holloway series--I really liked both Travis and Andie. Actually, I've loved Travis throughout the series, and was very glad to see him get his own HEA...and the fact that it's an older woman with body image issues? Loved! It was also nice to get a peak into what's going on with the other couples--especially Spence and Lila, who are planning their wedding.

Just What He Wanted was exactly what I wanted--an enjoyable way to spend a summer afternoon.

(I received a copy through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.)

FTC : I got this from NetGalley. I was not paid for the book nor do I know the author personally.

I have enjoyed the previous instalments to this series and so I picked this one up. It’s a little longer than the others and follows the tale of Travis, a lovely man with baggage, and Andie, a woman with body-image issues following a disastrous break-up.

The main barrier between the development of Travis and Andie’s relationship is Andie herself. She isn’t looking for a relationship after her breakup (understandable) and she has an issue with the age gap between them. This is where I struggled. The character was adamant that she did not want a relationship, yet wouldn’t entertain the idea of a fling with the younger man as she saw their age gap as an issue in the long run. Her words and actions were a complete contradiction to each other. I also struggled with how much with amount of time was spent on this as a problem. It was obvious that Andie was attracted to him and, although she seemed to be pushing him away, I felt that she was just making him work harder for something that was inevitable. It was really quite irritating.

I really enjoyed the character of Travis. I loved the way that he knew what he wanted and wasn’t willing to give up easily. I laughed so much at some of the antics that he used to get her to notice him and at his complete lack of shame at using his natural “talents” to secure her affections. He had some baggage himself but it never seemed to stop him moving forward with his ambitions and desires; If anything it made him work harder to get what he wanted. I wanted him to get his HEA but, once her baggage became less of an issue, his came back to bite them on the ass.

The chemistry between them was understated but obvious. These books are cute, with a very mild heat, but the focus is on the romance building rather than a sexual relationship. They are an easy read, good for when you need an uncomplicated happy fix. I don’t think this one will be a reread but it was an easy story to read.

This is a book that passed the time but didn't enthrall me. Although I loved the hero, the many issues that the heroine threw up as barricades against their HEA left me cold towards her. I will continue the series but it probably won’t be on the basis of this book.

I really liked this book but it felt like parts were missing. Each hurdle was passed so easily. But I love Andie's realistic insecurities.
