When I was a kid, it was a chore for my parents to get me to read anything. This book is what started a reading avalanche for me. I haven’t read it in years though I might be starting a nostalgic phase soon.

It’s a fun book for 10 year old me or 20 year old me. It’s been a while since reading it so while some plot elements weren’t that surprising, it still felt fresh!

I've loved this since the first time I picked it up, and I love it as much 8 year later.

It's so heartwarming, and interesting. I cant help but sometimes sit and ponder while I look at my own cat now lol

It's so good and versatile all from age to what genre you like. I mean if you like romcom highschool Romance, it's not really alike, but it's such a good fit for everyone.

Definitely a read someone should make once in their life, and not as one of those heavy literature read people cram on you. This just feels like life lol

It's also written very well in my opinion, it feels studied, (in the sense that it makes sense and not just something they threw together, viola)and the plot works perfectly. There's so much to unpack about this I could yap for hours help😭

I have definitely more than aged out of the intended target demographic for this and I have zero nostalgic attachment to this series, so I can fully understand that it's not for me and that speaks to me being an adult rather than a fault with the book itself. I can definitely see why this series captured so many imaginations though, I did enjoy the tapestry of cat betrayals and drama going on even if I found some things about the book hard to follow (not a new observation: the naming patterns led to me mixing up supporting characters, for example).

Currently rereading the entire series. This book will always hold a special place in my heart. This book got me into reading when I was 10 and had previously refused to read books all throughout my childhood. Will always be a five star read for me.
