Don't worry, I'm reading all of these! I just don't want 80+ books skewing my Storygraph stats and recommendations!

Very strong book, and a great introduction to the series overall! The writing really draws readers in to this complex society of cats.

Once you get past the fact that these are cats, and you acknowledge that it’s a kids book, then this is a great narrative! The nostalgia helps too.

Better than I thought it'd be "rereading" a childhood book series. The writing is genuinely engaging, impactful, and manages to put you right into the paws of a cat, with descriptions of tastes and smells that humans lack. I think it's fun, and I'm looking forward to more. The audiobook itself is really good.

Where it all began. Still such a classic, relaxing and fun story that chilled little old me to the bone back in the day. I would die for Yellowfang and Ravenpaw.

I started reading this as a hint from a friend who liked to talk about this series. I wasn't expecting to think much of it, think I'd like it. But it surpassed my expectations and wow! I really enjoyed this read.

The characters are loveable, or hateable, and all have unique character to them. Some aren't mentioned as much as others, but you can understand the dynamics as you read further into the book.

There is violence, but nothing is in depth or spoken gore-y, after all, it's not a YA geared series. But it's emotional and does speak of prior and current injuries as it goes on. There's fighting, of course, but I think that's the pure nature of the premise.

It's easy to follow along and process, which is another plus.

Something that can be confusing is some of the terms, which I actually had to ask for help to understand them.
(Such as moons=months), so that's my only real itch about what I've read.

Overall? I really enjoyed reading it, and I'm surely going to go on with the series.
