I felt nostalgic and wanted to re-read some Warrior Cats books. I still love this book as much as I did when I was younger. This introduction to the world of Warriors is great. You learn to understand this world very quickly. The story is interesting and there's a lot of action. The characters are really good. I think Firepaw is a good protagonist. The Firepaw, Graypaw and Ravenpaw trio is one of the most iconic trios in literature in my opinion.

This book series is really good for preteens and younger teens (I wouldn't let anyone under the age of 10 read these because of the violence but that's up to parents). I have many fond memories with this series and I might read the rest of the books in this first arc, if I don't feel like tackling my tbr :D

I'm reading this as a 28 year old British adult woman. My pen pal (10 year old American girl) kindly gave me a copy of this for my birthday because she's enjoyed reading the series and we both like cats. It was a quick read and I really enjoyed it! I'll be reading the rest of the first series for sure. One, to be able to discuss it with my pen pal, but two because I'm genuinely enjoying them. It reminded me of the kind of books I enjoyed reading at her age (Pendragon, The Last Dragon Chronicles etc.); it's adventurous and fast paced. The first book is all about setting the scene of who the cat clans are and how they operate. We follow Rusty (Firepaw), who was once a housecat and his journey to joining the Thunderclan as a warrior.

So far I think this is a great book series for kids. They tackle most of the things you'd like them to introduce to kids: e.g. working together as a team, being confident in yourself/independent, the importance of honesty, respect for nature, it showcases a strong women leader. It does have violence, but this is the natural violence of nature, not gratuitious violence and it certainly isn't gory or detailed. The one and only point I thought wasn't explained well, was why the cat clans couldn't reach an accord and share hunting rights of their lands to ensure everyone prospers. I hope that this is a storyline they return to in the future, otherwise the story does endorse the idea of borders, them vs us mentality, militarianism, and resource scarcity.

Read these books when I was about 9 years old, so re-reading these is just very nostalgic and wonderful :') That's why I don't give them an actual rating, I'm too emotionally invested, but I definitely loved this book :]

No spoilers. I read this when I was a kid and it was nice to revisit it as an adult. Still a really interesting story that is simple but compelling.

I read a lot of these books as a kid and I decided to check it out again. Honestly, this book is pretty solid after all of these years, and I'm probably going to continue the series.

I read this book over the course of a day, and that hasn't happened in a while. While there are obviously going to be moments that feel a little cliche, that's a lot of the charm for me. Something that I really didn't appreciate enough as a kid is that the writing fully allows me to put aside the fact that these are essentially conflicts between feral cat colonies and become invested in the stakes that the characters are facing.
