Usually these rewritten marvel books are pretty bad. They are aimed for the younger market and they have bad art and bad writing and are just plain dumb. And I usually get these from the library by mistake, thinking I'm putting something different on hold.

But this one was quite a bit better. It wasn't just a rewrite. It had new characters and new stories. And Peter's relationship with Sophia Sanduval was pretty interesting. As was it's impact on his relationship with Gwen Stacy. And Peter taking on a crime family even worked. Sure none of this was high art, but it also wasn't a waste of time. 3.5 of 5.
