This book is disturbing in a weirdly beautiful way. it was painful to read about the character and how her mind was so manipulated by this man. This book will absolutely make you hate Vanessa as well as feel absolutely devastated for her, cause it really is not her fault. I personally feel like the author could have described a few things differently, but I guess that’s kind of the point, to make you uncomfortable. This is exactly the kind of story that needs to be read, because it opens the eyes as to how victims can be so manipulated and broken down by their abusers. This is definitely a story that needed to be written.

Definitely not a feel good read, but I couldn’t put it down. I really struggled at times reading this book. The main characters life was so sad and she had been so brain washed by her abuser. I really liked the therapy scenes. Ruby was a bad ass.
