What can I say? I'm a sucker for anything Kurt Vonnegut and this autobiography of-sorts didn't disappoint. As usual there was a nice little world of crazy spun around the main characters with lots of thought provoking insight on the human condition, religion, ethics, etc. Just read it.

The premise and wonderfully written prologue reeled me in. Unfortunately, the level of absurdity felt overwhelming rather quickly afterwards. As a new Vonnegut reader, I suspect this may not be the book to start with, so I’ll plan to revisit (maybe) at a later time.

Very funny and thought provoking.  Standard Vonnegut in most respects, if a bit more haphazard than usual.  On the negative side, some things don't land quite right (e.g. Fu Manchu and his tiny compatriots), and some elements aren't developed as deeply as they could have been (e.g. the gravity thing).  And it's almost more of a novella than a full novel, with an ending that comes out of nowhere, like Vonnegut just decided he wanted to be finished with the book, resolution be damned.  But in clipping the ending like this he also manages to make it startlingly beautiful and poignant, and includes a five-line poem that is one of the highlights of his entire body of work.

A funny novel that introduces some very interesting ideas to the reader. That being political or slapstick. However with this happening it takes a step back on a gripping story or strong character development.
