Fourth in the Kay Scarpetta forensic mystery series.

My Take
Somehow I missed reading this one, and I think this one is pivotal in Kay, Lucy, Pete, and Benton's relationships.

The Story
Kay must request help from an ornery, misogynistic law professor when all the evidence begins to point to her
Spoileras people are murdered right and left all of which relates to a man executed days before

Again beginning solving computer-problems with Lucy, yeah!
Rest is ok, recommended, fast-page-turner, still too similar to the other books and too expensive as an ebook.

Fantastic read! I am a little annoyed with her neice, Lucy, but hopefully she grows out of the whiny phase in the next book. I am now looking forward to the next one in the series. I need to finish some other books before I get back to the series.

I thought this book was very interesting because it made me think about the crimes for myself. I just kind of hate that I got the last book in the series, with this problem it really makes it hard for me to understand what was going on before this one. I enjoyed it and caught on really quickly, so it didn't really matter. I really, really, really enjoyed this book!!!

I'm slowly but surely catching up Kay and her life, and I am enjoying the books.

This would of easily got 5 stars except for one thing, the ending. I read this book literally shaking with nerves at certain points (this may also have to do with the fact I was reading it the night before a big interview but heh, blame the book) and I was expecting a hugely exciting ending.. but it just didn't happen.

It felt insanely anti-climatic and even though the book had some amazing twists and turns, it failed to see them through to the end.

One particular twist was brilliant half way through the book but then the twist got un-twisted at the end and I was severely disappointed. The original twist would of made the book so much more interesting. (If you have read this, you definitely know what I'm talking about)!

All in all, all the characters were as enjoyable to read about as the first couple of books and I will continue reading, but I just really wished Cornwell could of actually finished this book properly!
