Much more action packed than the prequel, would definitely recommend if you like hypothetical world shattering disasters.

This was a huge disappointment for me. I am a huge fan of the genre, and a book really must have some big flaws for me to give it such a low rating. The idea is great, but the execution left a lot to be desired. First of all, there are too many technical descriptions which I guess would be interesting to survivalists, but not to a casual reader. Another thing that really annoyed me is the end. I get it that writers are doing this for marketing purposes, but all this aside, it just leaves this book seem incomplete as a piece of art.
There is just too much going on, and the focus is completely on the action, the external, while one of the most attractive features of the genre is the portrayal of the inner world of the characters going through such monumental changes.

I did not enjoy this book as much as the Jakarta Pandemic but I did like it. I thought it dragged a bit in the middle. When they get to Boston though it really takes off. I just wish that he had gotten there a bit sooner. It's a tad bit clichéd with the whole maniacal militia section.

Alex Fletcher series is pretty good. Just a little bit about Ryan at the beginning, then all Alex and Kate. Kate is smart, funny and very likable. Alex vacillates between great and home boy. But the series is good so far.

This book continues the Jakarta Pandemic ... and does a very good job of it. A bit slow at times but the action picks up and is plausible. I like the Alex character being smart, but not TOO smart. Anxious to read the next book in this series.

Gun porn. Really boring. All about guns, with an apocalyptic story as an excuse to talk about guns. I wanted one of those guns, just so I could shoot myself.

A new take on the end of the world... It definitely makes you want to get a gun.

Outstanding!

Realistic military style, as expected from the author's personal history. Action, tech and characterization. Read straight through. Recommended highly. Loved it.

Glad I bought this as part of a five book box set, as it ended quite abruptly

Well that didn't go where I had expected! 2018, everyone?! I'd gone in expected more from the prequel I'd recently read, but this one took it a little more extreme. Good adventure, happy to continue reading to find out what happens next.
