The ending to the Fantomhive Manor Murder Case arc is superb, with an amazing fictional tie to the real Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. The beginning of the Luxury Liner arc is rather interesting but were it not for the ending of the previous arc, I would have given this volume 3 stars.

Rating Update 4/5/2019- 4 stars to 3 stars. After having reviewed the synopsis of this volume, the mediocre start to the Luxury Liner arc takes up the majority of the volume, hence bringing the cumulative rating of the volume to 3 stars.

Update Aigist 1, 2019
With the adoption of my new rating system, a three star rating is befitting. The original review and rating update from April 5, 2019, conform to the new rating system. I have read the synopsis of each chapter in this volume to remind myself of the plot of this volume and have in doing so conjured up my previous feelings. As the original review writes, the superb ending to the Murder Mystery Arc, being a four star, is brought down by the dull beginning to the Luxury Liner Arc, it being a two star rated beginning. A rating of 2.8 stars is an approximate rating for this volume, which rounds up to a three star rating.

Update
I have changed the color of the rating from yellow to yellow with a grey outline because I read the book long ago and do not believe that my memories are complete. Moreover, the original review lacks content. In finalizing my rating system, I am going to use my current memories, the synopsis of the entire volume synopsis on the Wikipedia page titled "List of Black Butler chapters", reliance on the original review, my trust in the previous update's reliance of the synopsis of each chapter on the fandom site, and a reread of the synopsis of each chapter on the fandom site to ascertain the rating.

With all this in mind, the three star-rating seems like a good choice because of, what I assume to be the first two chapters rated at four stars, the third (chapter 50) unrated but reaching at least from two to four stars, and the final two chapters are rated at two stars. This allows for the volume to retain the three star-rating by having a rating above 2.5 stars, since the averages for the chapters would be 2.8 stars (assuming that all the chapters are the same length and the first two chapters are rated at four stars while the last three chapters are rated at 2 stars).

I have wondered whether chapter 50, mainly concentrating on Snake's acceptance into the household and Sebastian's resurrection, are part of the end to the Fantomhive Manor Murder Case arc and the four star-rating I attributed to it. I am not sure but presently I have liked (three star-rated feeling) chapter 50.

I have given the book the 2.5GB rating type, which can be summarized as being a book that starts with a four star-rated portion but drifts into two star-rated territory for the latter portion.

🇬🇧

Wasn't that exciting actually. Half of the volume was the clarification of the events of the previous volume. After that only scarcly a new chapter opened for the story and of course the volume ended when it hit it's climax. I really hoped for more in this volume. Also, the Mr and not Mr. part was a bit irritating.

If volume 10 was the conclusion to the locked murder mystery arc, then volume 11 pulled back the curtain to show how certain people pulled it all off. Toboso does a good job at incorporating flashbacks into the narrative, and she uses an interesting technique to transition between current and past scenes. Also, Sebastian was wickedly hilarious in this volume. His love for stray cats cannot be stopped! The new story arc involving raising the dead should be interesting and very bloody. Anything involving Lizzie and Ronald Knox is always a plus.
