A Nancy Drew type of mystery. A pretty clear picture is drawn about the grooming of a child by a predator. I appreciated the look at the prevalence of problems women and girls had in different stages of their lives with the patriarchy; however, a little bit of subtlety would have helped. At times, it felt like being beaten over the head with the information. Also, it was a pretty unrealistic portrayal of what would most likely happen after Mia opens up about her experience--how many children would get absolute support from every adult in their lives? This book might very well be the book someone needs to let them know they are not at fault in this situation.
Moderate: Adult/minor relationship
