True Biz was a very fun book. I appreciated the mini lessons that went along with what Charlie was learning. I wish that Charlie had been the only POV character as both February and Austin felt like side characters in her story and journey. I love the character growth and learned a lot.
I’ve seen people complaining about the ending and although I see where they are coming from I think it made sense. The story is about everyday lives - I think if that has been escalated to would have been too polarizing. However I wish that the flash forward at the beginning had been left out to not leave the audience thinking this would be a much bigger event than it was.

I absolutely loved this book until I finished it. It is engaging & eye opening - as a hearing person it was cool to get a glimpse into deaf culture & see ASL incorporated into my reading experience.

But by the end, the book felt unfinished. So many plot lines unresolved or incomplete (we could have a whole book on Kayla & BASL but instead it’s brought up maybe twice? February is just always sad & constantly losing what she loves and maybe wants to cheat on her wife?) & the final story line of the anarchistic mission felt rushed and forced in. The conclusion was not believable for me (they’re ready to blow up a building, but are instantly willing yo give up because a teacher showed up?)

I really expected to give this 5 stars as I was reading it, but having finished it I have to say it is incredibly well written but overall a bit dissapointing at the end.
