I guess this was mildly pleasant? Not bad but not good. A bit funny and sprinkled with whimsy but probably forgettable.

This is a collection of weird little stories. I didn't dislike them, but none of them really stuck with me. The collection is billed as being interconnected, but I didn't find that the thread was strong enough - it's more that certain characters pop back up. When that happened I had a hard time remembering which story they'd previously been in.

Almost five stars? I loved these imaginative, clever stories. Great writing too.

Man I love a weird little short story collection.  This was a very fast, fun read.

Sometimes...short stories that are loosely interconnected...are worse.

Love Kate Atkinson, and this book contains her usual colourful characters, humorous insights and shocking twists. I’m not generally a fan of short stories, mainly because, and especially in this case, I am disappointed when they end! But this is one to keep by the bed for when I’m in the mood for a quick read, and it will be perfect.
