Excellent addition to the series and I loved reading from the POV of Red. ❤️

When I started this book, I was unsure what to expect, and it started with a chapter from Red’s past and I thought I would end up disliking this book a lot! Turns out I’m wrong!
I adored Red! That girl was fierce, strong, and wouldn’t let anyone or anything cause her to back down. It was interesting to read a story about a girl who suffers from PTSD, or “soldier’s sickness” as it’s called in the book. Reading the chapters about her past really made you understand why Red suffered from PTSD. She went through A LOT! I’m amazed she turned out so well honestly

I don't usually need continuation books from series I've loved and let go, but since this was about an adjacent character (so lower chance of messing up the original characters' HEA), and I just really missed Elisa and Hector, I took a chance. And it was worth it! Hello, old friends and new! Check out my full review over at Forever Young Adult.

WOW. I can't believe I almost passed this installment by because it was my FAVORITE. I loved the story, the new characters, Red's growth, everything about it. It sounds like it was a labor of love from the author to her fans and it reads like it for sure! Highly, highly recommend!

This story was much better written than the first 3 in the series but it's not without its own annoyances. In hindsight, I could have skipped them and only read Empire of Dreams and been content.
