AMÉ EL LIBRO COMPLETO. NO TENGO PALABRAS. UNA OBRA DE ARTE! Las 5 estrellas más rápidas que le he puesto a un libro. Con temas de terror, desigualdad y abuso, se tocaron tantos temas que como mujeres hemos vivido desde hace tanto tiempo. Mariana Enríquez es excelente y con cada relato, simbolismo, analogía y metáfora, se te adentra a la mente y no te dejará que lo olvides.

I really did not enjoy this. I would not describe it as magical realism and would just describe the stories as “horrors”. The first story is also particularly classist and elitist. Maybe it’s because I read it in English? I don’t know if it’s a translation issue but I really really did not enjoy this. Almost didn’t finish it. There are also NO TRIGGER WARNINGS. although there should be.

Not as good as her most recent book of shorts. I didn't find these as compelling or atmospheric or the stories to be that interesting. Well written but meandering. Also, I get it, you don't like men.

Mariana es una genia para los cuentos cortos, fácilmente sabe desarrollar escenas en pocos párrafos y te traslada a lugares claros que, especialmente siendo latinoamericana/o, puedes visualizar con sencillez. El terror aquí pasa a plena luz del día, en cualquier parte y Mariana con una mirada metódica típica de una periodista, demuestra esa tesis fácilmente.

Le pongo 4 estrellas solamente por el relato "El Patio del Vecino" con el final demasiado grotesco para mi estilo (si lo leen lo van a saber PERO MEJOR NO LO LEAN)
