Sylvia Plath is a talented poet and I really like some of the poems in the collection but the nazi/holocaust references and racist statements made me feel uncomfortable

The imagery was very interesting and I spent time looking at each 'image' in the context of the poem. But also an interest in water and the color black. The biography at the end mentions she grew up near the sea in Winthrop, MA. My favorite poem in is "Daddy."

part of my efforts to get into poetry! some were so beautiful i had to read them over and over again (death & co and a birthday present will be staying with me for a long time) but others being so problematic did inevitably ruin that beauty for me

4.5.

Poetry is the same but prefer the intended order as seen in Ariel: The Restored Edition.
