What a great read! I listened to the audiobook and was thoroughly entertained by the reader. A powerful story about a boy who has experienced trauma trying to cope with that (and childhood in general) and come out stronger. I related to Ghost’s experience with bullying. I loved the character of Coach. I can’t wait to read the rest of the series.

I loved this book! It was challenging, but had its fun and reflective moments. The main character Ghost lives in Glass Manor, a not great neighborhood but finds his way on to the Defenders track team. Ghost and the other "newbies" on the track team bond and become each other's best supporters. Coach also plays a huge role in helping Ghost become a track star and learn some important life lessons along the way.

I read Ghost as an audiobook and really enjoyed it! It has good scene setting and detail and a plot that kept me engaged. The conflicts felt age-appropriate and this book gives a window and a reminder that you never know what your peers may be dealing with at home. I would definitely recommend it!
