Loved how Scripture saturated it was, but it was a bit hard to find the common thread. Maybe it was the writing style, or maybe it was because I listened to this on audio. Engaged with the last part though when she shared some more personal stories and how the Word spoke into that.

Lauren Chandler has been through it. And her painful experiences have only drawn her closer to God. This book is evidence of her devotion to trusting the Lord in all circumstances. Because of her writing, I have been challenged and encouraged to do the same. Her writing can be a bit disconnected at times, but she has a strong grasp on biblical theology. She brought out meanings in texts I hadn’t thought of before. Great read, highly recommend.

I really loved Lauren's book. She shares her heart in these words. So much of this resonated with me!

2.5 stars.
The book was really probably pretty good, but the first 80% just wasn’t the style I enjoy most. It lacked a narrative that I typically find compelling in Christian books. She preaches and teaches a lot on Psalm 107, and I believe she did a good job, but what really drew me in were the final 2 or 3 chapters where she opened up more about her personal experience and how she related it to Scripture.

I loved this book. I heard Lauren speak at an If: Gathering event and immediate grabbed her book. She has a calming way aboit her, something I don't seem to possess. It really struck me as she was speaking and it carried through in her writing as well.

Steadfast Love is a testament to God's truly unfailing love, based on Ps 107. The deeper I got into the book, the more I couldn't put it down. She shares stores from her own life, as well as Scripture, that helped me to see some areas in my life that need to be confessed and dealt with before God.
Looking forward to now finding her music on Google Music and waiting for her next book!

Chandler used the four difficult "seasons" in Psalm 107 as a jumping off point for exploring them and God's faithfulness and love in each. I found it both challenging and encouraging - my copy is bleeding with underlines and notes. Definitely the best non-fiction read of 2017 for me.

Lauren takes you on a journey through Psalm 107. She acknowledges the heaviness of a loved one with a diagnosis of cancer, and the questions one has towards God in the face of all the uncertainty. More than being just a basic overview of the Psalm, this book is a call to deal with those things in your life that are impeding your ability to trust God and build a lasting relationship with Him.

I loved Lauren’s approach to life. She acknowledges that while no one wants to be walking through the desert, we will all experience some desert situations. And it’s more about the way in which we approach the desert situation than the actual event itself. I thought Lauren mixed theology while real life in a way that made her story, and the journey through dark trials and tribulations. Steadfast Love points you back to scripture and reminds you to spend your time pressing into God rather than wallowing in fear and worry. I finished the book with a better picture of what it looks like to press into God in a tragedy type situation, and how to allow that experience to press out of my life some of the things that are unnecessary and holding me back, and how to press into the beautiful life God has planned for me.
