Horses, magic and love, what more can you wish for? A lovely book.

Of Fire & Stars is Audrey Coulthurst's debut YA novel which can be read with complete ease. The way the writer illustrated scenarios without using huge words was impressive. Everything rolled out like warm water. I must admit, I was unprepared (if I'd known, I'd pack some snacks, I couldn't put the book down!) for a joyous ride of adventure with two princesses named Denna & Mare, on the search to clarity—both dangerous and lovely. The romantic tension between the two was developed naturally and was indeed, beautiful and agonizing to unfold (a bit reminiscent to Romeo and Juliet except with power and prosperity). Generally, the portrayal of the characters in this book was un-forced, which gives the reader the freedom to acquire a better understanding of the plot. The antagonist messed with my trust which goes to show how the writer succeeded in foretelling this tale. If you're looking for a book that exercises the derails of coming of age in the monarchy, bravery and melting barriers of all kinds for love, then this is the book.

Definitely read this years ago? Like twice back to back? And forgot to mark it as read on my goodreads? Anyways, it's a lovely book that 8 year old me would've loved every second of every reread ever. Kinda wish it was published when I was that age kind of book. Objectively it's pretty generic, but subjectively everything in it is amazing!
