The constant reminder of Yael's trauma and lack of identity became annoying and gringy. Though I understood why Yael felt paranoid while dealing with Felix and Luka it got to a point were it felt as an excuse to not develop neither the plot nor Yael nor the relationships she was having to deal with. 

Supposedly she accepted who she is thanks to Vlad's training (and yes, she was triggered during the race) but her actions and thoughts during the race only made me doubtful of how strong she truly was that she even learned from what Vlad had thought her.
