"You haven't known the triumphs and defeats, the epic highs and lows of highschool [basketball]."
I wanted to like this book so badly, but the ending.... however I would read another book by the author because I did like his writing style and the insight into native American traditions, culture and their struggles.

This writing style is so difficult to follow. I have read plenty of books that start out with vague descriptions or events. This writing style made it so hard to visualize the events. I hate I spent $12 on this book.

I haven’t read a lot of stories by Native American authors, but this one definitely made me curious about them! Before starting this book I’d read loads of super positive reviews, but unfortunately I’m not one of them. Don’t get me wrong, I liked the story and the characters, but I had troubles with the writingstyle. It had me confused for most of the story which took me out of the rush of it. Nevertheless, I definitely want to read more by SGJ.
