this volume was similarly hectic to the last one but the fights were more engaging. mahito's fight scenes are some of my favorite. he always reminds me of orochimaru in the way he can maneuver around his opponents and control the shape of his body (or "soul" in this case). i also see the resemblance in the way they're used as comedic relief once in a while. other than that, it didn't have much of an emotional impact on me ifykyk. it's a bit difficult to write all of my thoughts since these volumes are all part of one arc but it's fun to reflect on everything and makes for a more rewarding experience.

Nanami dies...balling my eyes out. The line about book really got me. Making his last adult decision to encourage Yuji instead of burdening him with his own death. A great sorcerer to the end. Now, a Nobara flashback?! I'm not ready.
