Fun and subversive! It has a really interesting tone that I feel I probably need to see on stage to fully understand. I could see myself liking it more depending on direction. I hope I get to!

Gabrielle-Suzanne Barbot de Villeneuve's classic version of BEAUTY AND THE BEAST is a delightful fairy tale. The central message of "do not judge someone by their looks, but by their heart" is indeed timeless and universal, and there are enough wrinkles and narrative changes in here compared to some of its cinematic adaptations that makes for very engaging reading. Charming and heartwarming!
