Combo review with book 1... soooo good! I randomly found this on libby and so glad I did! YA fantasy. Yes, young unassuming girl must save the world blah blah BUT the other characters are what pushed this over for me. Very clear, vibrant story telling and World building. Great action and a little romance too. A+ Can't wait to read book 3 to see how this ends.

Rage. That's how I felt reading this book. It's literally a roller coaster ride of going up, of feeling that spark of hope, then going down the drain and going through these twists and turns. I couldn't even count the number of profanities I yelled because of what happened to some of my favorite characters, ESPECIALLY THE ENDING. I need Book Three immediately!

I like this one a bit more than book 1. It was really interesting getting to see more of the villains’ point of view and how they see things. The characters were much more likeable and I was able to connect and root for them. I also found that this book had more humour and tension than the previous one, which I enjoyed. While some parts of the book still fell a bit flat, a lot of the action and plot twists made up for it, especially that ending. I’m excited for how this story will wrap up and to see whether or not it’s a satisfying conclusion.
