This is a four-novel anthology, but I'm only reviewing Murder for Christmas since I've already read the other four in the book.

This felt odd for a Poirot, and I actually didn't realize that it was a Poirot until he popped up about a third of the way into the story (I didn't read the jacket, which I'm sure would have alerted me that it was an HP, but I just pulled it off the shelf because of its Christmas title [I was getting in the holiday spirit--of murder]). It started out a little disjointedly, and I noticed a lot of exclamation points, not only in the dialogue, which I always find awkward to read. But it finally got moving and turned out pretty well.

As per usual, the perpetrator is not who you thought it would be, and at least likely not your first few picks

I love Agatha Christie’s writing style! I almost figured it out!

I listened to this on audiobook and kept spacing out but still enjoyed the reveal. Very Poirot. I had expected this to be more Christmasy though.

I wasn't feeling this one, until the twist at the end, which was really quite good.
But the tone overall was pretty heavy and full of family drama and stock characters... definitely not as witty or enjoyable as others.

This mystery had unexpected (albeit perhaps a bit too many) twists, and the characters were all very interesting! Overall I liked it, but I’m not sure murder mystery is a genre I want to read often.

Agatha Christie continues to surprise and delight with her magnificent twist endings! This book’s pacing was a little slow in the middle, but it was more than made up for with a locked door mystery, a room full of plausible suspects, and the frigid atmosphere of the house.
