Review Excerpt: Part of Demonkin‘s problem is that when it was good – it was great! – but there wasn’t enough of that captivating spark of greatness in there to keep me interested. Probably from around 35% to 65% (give or take a bit in either direction), it was a difficult read. It lost my attention, I didn’t care what was going on, and it pretty much fell solidly into “eh, typical fantasy book” realm. Luckily the end really picked up, and I loved some of the battle scenes and deaths that happened.
