I just finished this book, and I LOVED it. ❤

It was everything and more I thought it would be, after book one being a lot of world and character building this is very story driven.

The overall story arc is developing a great deal, and I cannot wait to see where it takes us.

We get a look at some of the other worlds and their politics, that includes the humans.

Some of my hunches were right but I have a feeling there is much more.

This review is for the entire series

Initially, I was rooting for Danica and wanted to smack the rude out of Samael. However the more you read the more you realize why he is the way he is. The more he, and all the characters grow. That is by far my fave part of the entire series. The individual growth and the growth of relationships between characters. Not Just the two MCs but also their relationships with friends and family. the development of the world, careers, the complexity of the witching grading system from white to black, and all the grey in between. It was terrific. Hard to believe the writer is fairly new.

Really enjoying this series. I love how things are unfolding, and the tension between Dani and Samael. And imo he's still walking that line of forgivable alpha-hole, but I know that's a taste thing so YMMV. For me ... it is because whether he says it or no, he's very, very careful to never put her into a position that she would find violating.

SpoilerThe whole prophecy thing... well... alpha-hole for sure, and definitely a betrayal, but I can kind of get why. I'm hoping he comes to his senses and removes the bond so she feels like he respects her. Maybe then she'll listen to explanation. I'm interested in the explanation too, but at this point, I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt.
Because, like I mentioned in my review of book 1, his POV chapters help us know that he's not some mad tyrant bent on using her. He cares. So I want to know his reasoning.

And I want them to be better at communicating with each other, but that will come as the relationship evolves.
