I received this book from Netgalley in exchange of an honest review.

I was slightly let down by this. I understand that it was probably aimed at an audience younger than myself, but I just felt all the situations to be too childish and basic. The plot lines weren't interesting and they had been done before, but this just threw in the characters of Grumpy Cat and Pokey. I've personally loved Grumpy Cat as a meme and internet phenomenon, but these stories probably weren't necessary. Don't get me wrong, the art and cats are still cute, but I just wasn't impressed by this. I still gave this three stars though, as my cat lady heart had to.

-- A NetGalley ARC review--

I read this book because I'm a huge Grumpy cat fan, so when I heard about the comics, I was all for them. And it was adorable. It was silly and cheesy and the ideas were cute. But honestly, what ruined it for me? The short appearances of the people. All of which were white except for one of the robbers in the SuperHero story, who's skin colour basically changed from black to white, with features that were very much black when in detail. WHY? Even King Tut in the last story was white. I don't understand why this had to be the case. They didn't even have the same owners throughout the comics, and yet they were all white. It's just frustrating. Show some creativity in your art, I'm just saying.

Grumpy cat gives me the blahs. There is nothing new or unique here. Just grumpy being grumpy and insulting. At least Garfield was entertaining and made you laugh

I love Grumpy Cat, but there can only be one grumpy cat in comics, and that particular monarch was crowned long, long ago.
