loved the themes and loved last few lines but my god these guys are annoying and self-aggrandising, they see themselves as objective and so intelligent and they’re just insufferable pricks. when the husband reveladed his mistress i audibly went “of fucking course”. wanted more from Alicia’s perspective. also not sure if my brains just gotten more mushy recently but lucas’ section was a little confusing.

Una storia che sembrano tre. Tre diverse versioni, tre diversi sentimenti e tre diverse interpretazioni che dimostrano come di tutto non esista una sola ed univoca variante. Ci troviamo davanti ad un libro che si legge in poche ore, ma ti lascia addosso un senso di insoddisfazione che accompagna tutta la narrazione. Insoddisfazione, unita a incapacità di prendere posizioni e decidere cosa davvero si vuole, forse proprio perché non si sa che cosa davvero si vuole. Non mi ero mai avvicinata a scrittori uruguayani, ma non posso decidere così su due piedi e meno di cento pagine se Benedetti in definitiva mi piace oppure no, proverò con altro, magari più elaborato.
