I ended up with a very old copy of this book from my grandfather, and I *loved* this story. I loved the blunt/direct style in which is was written and the excitement of reading about a woman completely bored with her high society life and then having her feathers ruffled by a handsome pirate. There was just something about this book when I first read, the writing style or the imagery, that has stayed with me. This is one that i periodically pull off my "favorites" shelf and read again.
