I enjoyed this book for what it is (that being the conclusion to the first Wings of Fire arc).  Sunny is a sweet and empathetic main character.  It was interesting to see her observations about the dragons around her and how she was willing to give pretty much anyone the benefit of the doubt.  However, she didn't really have much of a character arc of her own.  She was pretty much the same dragon at the beginning of the book as the end, although the characters around her did respect her more.  The side characters in this book were enjoyable to read about, such as Thorn, Qibli, Six-Claws, and Smolder.  The book also did a pretty good job of tying up all the plot points, although the ending of the book did feel a little rushed and ideal.  Overall, this was a decent and enjoyable entry in the first arc, but not necessarily a stand-out book for me in the series as a whole.

I continue to enjoy that this story is told from the perspective of dragons rather than humans, though parts of it were a little formulatic. It started to break the formula in books four and five which I appreciated.

The end of book five feels like a complete story arc, and I’m not sure whether I will continue. However, the narrator of the next book is of particular interest to me so there is a high possibility of it.
