Viajes en el tiempo: genial
Paradojas: magnífico
John Layman: el crack de Chew
Lo tiene todo para gustarme... y lo consigue.
Divertido, fresco, sorprendente.

Silly and fun to look at, even if the plot didn't make total sense (acknowledging that time travel stories rarely, if ever, make total sense). I love alternate reality timestreams, and especially enjoyed the tyrannical Lincoln monarchy. And the dinosaurs. What's the point of having a time machine if you're not going to domesticate dinosaurs? I do have two major qualms that distracted me from focusing on the story and the excellent backgrounds: 1) Is Sean Bennett the only Black person in the world? I looked for any other non-white characters and couldn't find a single one in any of the timescapes. 2) What the heck is going on with Sean's ears? Other characters have (pretty large but otherwise) normal-looking ears. His are like 3/4 normal and then end up bent at right angles at the bottom? Why?

This was a fun story about a mistreated lab assistant, Sean Bennett, who is working with a team of physicists who've created a working time machine. Despite knowing how foolish it is to f#&% with time, Sean does it anyway, going back one week to fix something in his life, and returning to find ridiculously complicated changes have taken place, changes that shouldn't be possible after going back only one week. Soon the Time Police from the future are after him, and give him an ultimatum: undo the damage he's done to the timeline withing 48 hours, or be erased from history. What follows is a wild romp through time, with Sean f#&%ing things up even more each time he tries to fix things. He keeps meeting other versions of himself along the way, but are they helping him or hindering him? Will he be able to fix the damage, or will his life be ended by the Time Police? There are answers to these questions, but I'm not telling.
Overall, I enjoyed this story. Sean can be very blockheaded at times, and does some really dumb things that he should have been smart enough not to do, but that's people for you. It was fun trying to keep up with all the twists and turns, and the ending was satisfying. The f#&%ed up world that comes about is hilarious and disconcerting, and the gorgeous artwork brings it all to life so well! Read this when you want something kinda silly and fun, with a bit of mystery thrown in.

I received an eARC courtesy of Aftershock Comics via Edelweiss in exchange for my honest review.

Dig the concept. Really, really hope the minor typos were fixed before the final printing.

This must have been super hard to write keeping track of all the time travel implications but I admired this volume more than enjoyed it.
