I haven't really been commenting as I've been reading these, but now that I'm finished, I do feel obliged to say that one of the things that really impresses me about Invincible compared to Kirkman's other major work, is the fundamental optimism at the core of it. There is an absolute joy to these comics that doesn't even exist in a lot of superhero fiction today; despite the visceral gore, the tone never ventures into grimdark territory.

Ryan Ottley's art is, of course, a huge part of what this series is - I'll leave specific comments to smarter people than me, but I couldn't imagine these books looking any other way.

Sad to be done with the series, but also happy with the conclusion. It felt simultaneously grand, powerful, and human - just like the title character.

A wonderful end to an impressively consistent series, an accomplishment in the superhero genre that's probably only possible due to it being creator-owned. Under DC or Marvel this would probably still be going in a mediocre state, but here the narrative is allowed to find a pretty graceful end.

I hope to read this series again some day.

Great series, but it started to fall apart in the end with some illogical jumps.
SpoilerMark orders the viltrumite families to leave the planet and they are just ok with it? Even the earth mates? In a lot of ways Mark is a worse dictator than Robot.

For a series that began with tongue in cheek humour of superhero tropes and making fun of other books in the genre , they ended up using a lot of tropes themselves.

Probably one of the weakest books of the 12.

I can't believe the series is over ...
I am not a fan of how extreme the violence depicted was but also I absolutely loved this run. It started as a small book that played with superhero tropes but it grew into such a big book which explored a lot of complex ideas.

My favorite part is how a lot of conflict could have been avoided or is resolved through people sitting down and talking.
