Consider This: Moments in My Writing Life After Which Everything Was Different by Chuck Palahniuk

This was a great purchase. I have never read anything by Palahniuk so the advice in this book was often surprising. Not for young readers, but excellent for writers!
Here is the thing about this book. While Palahniuk gives some of the best ideas I have ever heard for commercial success, he uses the whole book to describe how to be a better writer! Not for others, not for sales, but for you the writer.
I listened to this on Audible, but I am going out to Barnes and Noble and buying a copy I can keep nearby.

Palahniuk is such a unique writer that I am drawn to picking one up every year or so. This book offered a glimpse of what makes him click or write in his novel manner. At first I didn’t much care for it but I stuck with it and am glad I did. I will continue reading his books and seeing an entirely new way of looking at the world and telling stories. 3 stars.

Cherry on the top
Chuck Palahnuik is one of my favorite writers. The book is a good read for extra measures you can colour your literature with.
If you are looking for a book about the basics, you might want to check the anatomy of story for John Truby first.

I love Chuck Palahniuk so it’s not too surprising that I loved this book, that said, it’s certainly the best non-fiction novel I’ve read in a long time. Being an avid reader of fiction, it was wonderful to look behind the curtain at the process of creation and recognize techniques that make some books better than others. I’m not a writer, but now I want to be.
