When I first started reading this book I was instantly confused. It took me a couple of articles to find my rhythm with this book but once I did I found the book amusing enough. I can't say it made me hold my sides laughing, but I appreciated the satire of our American society. This is one of those books that if you wish to read you need to be up to date on current events and have a decent understanding on the workings (or non-workings according to Parham) of American government.

Parham uses a stream of conscience type of narration that at times feels too rambling. He mixes history, stories, and current events and tweaks everything in order to create a sense of chaos and absurdity.

The book was organized in five sections with each section composed of stand alone articles from his humor column. I particularly enjoyed the articles on Facebook ridiculousness.

All in all I didn't enjoy the book as much as I should have simply because this wasn't my type of humor. However, I could see my economic professor grandfather having had enjoyed this book immensely.
