2.5 stars, alas. But the kind of 2.5 stars where there's nothing wrong with the book. It's just bland and kinda forgettable. I was in the mood for something paranormal, and I remembered reading the first book in this f/f werewolf shifter series. This one, I enjoyed a little less. It's about a werewolf shifter who unexpectedly meets her mate, and it turns out to be a human woman working for her pack's company. They hit it off (though Robin doesn't tell Heather that they're mates) but then a group of rogue werewolves decide they want to have Heather for themselves, and Heather ends up staying with Robin for protection. There's the forced proximity, of course, fated mates, and a lot of steam. And it was fine! It felt rushed and hastily plotted and I couldn't bring myself to care about the plot. (WHY did the rogues werewolves want Heather? Who knows! It just felt like villainy for the sake of villainy.) The romance was fine (I liked the bit where the title came into play) and it was super sexy. But there were also some words used that I'm, lol, not fond of. And at one point I wanted to sit these women down and have a safe sex PSA with them.

Honestly, I remembered too late that one of the things I liked best about the first book was the friends to lovers and the fact that I listened to the audiobook. Since I read this physically and it didn't have my favourite trope... alas.

I was just so fixated that Robin did not tell Heather they were mates. And at least every chapter mentions that she will tell Heather that they are mates and she never does. So it just feels like lying and I can not stand that.

To love and protect each other

Robin finally found her mate and she is careful to take her time getting to know her. She also needs to protect her from some rouge wolves threatening to harm her. Heather can't believe how strong her feeling for Robin are. Now she has to convince Robin that she's all in. I truly love this series it is so hot and thrilling. I wish there w were more than just 3 books.
