Well that was a fun book!

I was amused when I saw the various categories were young adult, science fiction, and romance. I have always loved young adult books, ever since I was a young adult. Science fiction has also been my favorite genre, along with Fantasy. And I do have small guilty pleasure in occasionally reading a romance novel, as long as they actually have a plot :) The fact that this book combined them all was amusing, and worked well!

The seldom seen first person point of view surprised me at first. I wondered how well it would stand up to a novel length book, but it worked really well combined with the main character's quirks and amusing mental thought process. I appreciated that we got to have real character development of the main character along with seeing her thought process along the way.

I really appreciated how the "bad" cool kids turned into just normal kids through the book, and the "not cool" kids turned into just normal kids as well. Life isn't about cliques and stereotypes, and I appreciated that the initial categorization of high school kids flipped into normal people.

Without putting spoilers in the review, I liked how it ended. It felt right. I have some hopes for book 2 regarding some of the main characters, but we'll see how that turns out. In particular, I hope the cubs do better for her parent's sake.

While I felt this book closed out the main plot lines nicely, I'm quite interested to see what happens next. Hopefully we won't need to wait too long for the sequel :)
