This was a really great read with some wonderful stories. I only dock one star because unknowingly it also contained several stories I’d already read elsewhere in different collections or on their own. Was just hoping for some more new stuff.

I typically enjoy Joe hill but this short story collection just wasn’t grabbing me. None were any that I really loved, they were all pretty forgettable. Usually with a short story collection I find some stories good, some mediocre and some bad but all were boring me. I like Joe hill’s novels and graphic novels a lot though.

I had the hardest time getting through these stories. I had high hopes and enjoy short stories as a sort of palette cleanser sometimes, but these just did nothing for me and I didn't really enjoy it at all.

Like all short story collections, this was a mixed bag with some stories that I really liked and others I was less grabbed by. I found I enjoyed the stories most where there was less reliance on supernatural or horror tropes. Throughout the characters are all well written and Hill manages to pack a lot of story into a short space.
